Senior Media Planner/Buyer

Reports To: Media Director

Position Summary: The Senior Media Planner/Buyer is responsible for the planning of all media for assigned clients and new business, in addition to research, development, and presentation of media plans and media buying.


  • Media planning and negotiation/buying
  • Identify and evaluate new media opportunities
  • Daily and weekly media estimates and reporting. Final evaluation of updated post log reports for assigned programs.
  • Results analysis, media optimization and impact projection.
  • Maintain strong station sales and vendor relationships
  • Interfacing with client and internal teams
  • Identifying and resolving problems
  • Analyzing and tracking program results on a daily/weekly basis
  • Manage multiple campaigns
  • Manage, train and mentor assigned team
  • Researches, develops, and plans media for assigned clients
  • Gathers, organizes and presents competitive research and spending data
  • Approving affidavits and reconciling discrepancies
  • Mastery of the Core media tracking system from a front end and back end client results standpoint.

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • 4-6 years TV media buying experience required, DRTV preferred.
  • Strong math/analytical skills
  • Proven ability to multi-task on various accounts
  • Strong ability to shift priorities quickly in a deadline drive environment

New Business Development

Position Summary: Bluewater Media is growing direct response advertising agency building a New Business Development team. This team will be responsible for prospecting and developing new business opportunities, negotiating/closing business deals and maintaining extensive knowledge of current market conditions.
As a senior sales professional, it is their job to work with the internal team to increase sales opportunities and thereby maximize revenue for Bluewater Media. In addition, it is important to help manage the relationship with the clients they bring in to ensure they stay satisfied and positive about the services and deliverables provided by our Team.

They should have excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a proven record in generating significant revenues.


  • Generate leads/cold calling to ensure a robust new business pipeline
  • Efficiently maintain regular contact with existing prospects
  • Identify potential clients, and the decision makers within the client organization
  • Set up meetings between client decision makers and company’s leaders/Principals
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with your clients
  • Cross sell additional Bluewater services to your clients
  • Independently plan and implement initial services and capabilities pitches
  • Work with the internal team to develop proposals that address the client’s challenges, needs and objectives
  • Close new business and met sales goals in first 12-15 months of employment
  • Forecast sales targets and ensure they are met by you and the team. Create weekly/monthly status reports to business leaders/Principals to track progress against sales revenue goals
  • Using knowledge of the market and competitors, identify and develop the company’s unique selling propositions and differentiators
  • Identify industry categories to prospect. Assist in developing marketing materials required
  • Attend industry events and conferences. Set meetings with decisions makers ahead of time.  Be prepared

Job Requirements:

  • 5-10 years advertising agency and/or sales experience. Direct Response preferred.
  • 2-3 years TV Media and Creative sales experience
  • Must have existing business contacts and relationships
  • Strong writing and verbal skill. Attention to detail
  • Strategic thinker

Office PA/Production Assistant

Position Summary: Bluewater Media seeks a full-time Office Production Assistant. The Office PA is a highly-detailed individual who enjoys organizing and managing tasks and priorities in an efficient way. Room for advancement in a growing company.


  • Minimum of 2 years of production experience (internship or college degree would also apply)
  • Must have proactive positive attitude with a self-motivated drive and determination
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, must be comfortable actually calling unfamiliar people on the telephone
  • Exceptional multi-tasking and time management skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook
  • Possess a reliable vehicle, valid driver’s license and a clean driving record
  • Able to lift 50 lbs. unassisted and carry equipment to assist with loading and unloading

Primary Duties:

  • Supporting the Producing Team as well as other departments, as needed
  • Assisting with production of video and film projects, as needed.
  • Office support which includes gear maintenance and cleaning studio and work spaces.
  • Research production logistics
  • Book talent and models for shoots, pending approval from Producers
  • Generate Call Sheets
  • Track that paperwork is signed and filed
  • Identify production needs and concerns, and offer cost and time efficient solutions
  • Assist in all other aspects of production as necessary including Production Design, Lighting, Set Operations, Camera Dept.
  • Coordinate shoot schedule with production team
  • Proofing and editing
  • Clerical functions such as preparing correspondence, arranging conference calls, and scheduling meetings
  • Various office assistant needs (photocopying/printing, file management, office supplies inventory and organization, etc.)
  • Run errands & manage incoming deliveries of packages/shipments

This position will offer valuable experience along with a unique perspective of the ins & outs of the vibrant DRTV production industry.

Media Coordinator

Position Summary: The Media Coordinator is responsible for supporting the DRTV media team and helping achieve client goals through communications with stations and facilitating the data flows required to run an advertising campaign.


  • Request and process pre-log and post-log air times
  • Identify airings outside of buy parameters and resolve with stations
  • Follow up on station confirmations for new orders and revisions
  • Request rate cards, avails and program grids for assigned stations
  • Maintain program station folders
  • Follow up and resolve Did Not Airs
  • Import and reconcile data feeds (call center, web, etc.) into CORE Media System
  • Pull client reporting as required
  • Work with media buyer to negotiate and buy for assigned programs and stations against client goals
